NCS to offer meals at no cost for kids through Dec. 31
Newark City Schools will be offering lunch and breakfast to children ages 2 to 18 at no cost, once per day starting Tuesday, Sept. 8. This is because the USDA passed a ruling to allow us to serve at no cost 1 lunch and 1 breakfast a day Monday through Friday, through December 31. Meals will continue to be served between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at our buildings while students are learning virtually. Students can pick up 1 lunch and 1 breakfast meal daily between those times. Once we return to in-person classes, meals will be offered at regularly scheduled times for all students at no charge.
