Newark City Schools

Summer School applications for 2024 are now available. The first session lasts from June 3 through 21; the second session lasts from June 24 through July 12. Courses taken for credit recovery are free for Newark students. The cost is $153 for one semester and $204 for both for Newark students, or $230 and $300 or out-of-district students. Middle school classes are only offered during the second semester, and fees are free for class re-takes. Click below for applications:

Every Month, Newark City Schools honors 30 students in grades 4 through 12 from across the district as Citizens of the Month, for their leadership and actions inside and outside of the classroom. Students and their families are invited to a lunch in their honor to celebrate their achievements. The April 2024 Citizen of the Month luncheon was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Newark, Ohio. It's time to register for our 2024 summer camps. Please click each link below for more information. All registrations can be filled out online except for Guitar Camp, which must be turned into your child's school. All grades listed as a student's grade entering next fall.

If you have an incoming kindergarten student this fall, you can now register them for Newark City Schools' annual Kindergarten Readiness Academy. The program begins July 8 and lasts for 4 weeks, 4 days a week. Please click here to register and click here for a flyer with more information. In-person assistance with registration will be held the weeks of April 9 and 15, but parents can register their children any time.
