Who We Are

The Newark Digital Academy opened on August 25, 2003 and is designed for students who have a desire for an online education program where instruction is delivered in an independent environment.
NDA is a public school and part of the Newark City Schools.

NDA teachers are HQT and licensed in the area/s they teach

Our curriculum is aligned with Ohio’s New Learning Content Standards

Our students are required to take state mandated achievement and graduation tests.

What We Offer

Tutoring
  • On-site teachers who grade your work
  • On-site tutoring hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM 
  • Wednesday Career Exploration from 3:30 to 5:00 PM
Guidance, Social Worker, & Graduation Coach Services
  • CTEC, Post-Secondary Options, ACT/SAT testing
  • Services for pregnant teens/teen parents
  • Referrals for community resources: Ohio Benefits Bank, food pantries, community dinners, shelters, utility assistance, and more.
  • Home visits
  • Goal setting, Tutoring and Support
  • Career Exploration, College/career readiness
Technical Assistance
  • On-site Monday-Friday 8AM-3:00PM
Alternative Lessons & Flex Credit Options
  • On-site Science and Social Studies classes
  • Video conference courses in a variety of subjects
  • Career Exploration/ Work Credit
  • Volunteerism/ Social Civics
  • Credit Recovery Options
  • College Plus Program with COTC and OSU-Newark and others.

NDA is a public school regulated by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE)

NDA teachers are HQT and licensed in the area/s they teach

Our curriculum is aligned with Ohio’s New Learning Content Standards

Our students are required to take state mandated achievement and graduation tests. We are registered with the state of Ohio as a Conversion Community School, e- School and are by definition a “work at home” program.

2016-2017 School year consisted of:
25- K-5 students
76- 6th-8th Grade students
501- 9th- 12th Grade students
