Writing about Reading:

  • Draw a picture of your favorite time of year when you look at trees. Do you like to look at trees when they are first getting their leaves and have little buds on them, a spring tree? Do you like when the trees are full of green leaves, a summer tree? Do you like when a tree has lots of colorful leaves, like red, yellow, and orange, a fall tree? Or do you like when trees are bare in the winter and you can see all of their branches?

  • Decide which time of year you like to see trees and draw a picture of your tree during that season. Write a sentence telling the type of tree you like and why. Check out my example:

I like spring trees because I like the new buds starting on the branches. Some spring trees have flowers.
