Today we are going to read a non fiction text that is going to teach us about how dangerous weather can be.  It is called Extreme Weather and it was written by Torrey Maloof.


Writing about Reading related to the read aloud text: 

Choose one type of extreme weather. Write about how it forms and how it affects us.

Math & Science 

Tasks: 

Math:

  • Math Monster Subtraction  

  • Addition War.  *using a deck of cards each player will draw 2 cards.  They will add the numbers on the cards together. Highest sum wins.  Continue playing until cards are gone. Player with the most cards wins!

Science:

  • Weather Tracking.  Students can create a weather tracking sheet using this template or by creating their own.  Try to record the date, weather, and temperature.

Needed Materials:  

Math:

Access to a device.

Deck of cards or make your own cards using numbers 0-20.

 

Science:

Pencil, weather tracking template or any scrap piece of paper.
