Title: What Will the Weather Be?

Opening Move / Book Introduction: This book is nonfiction and the author’s purpose is to inform you about predicting the weather and what causes different types of weather. Did you know that meteorologists are scientists who study the weather?

As you are listening, I want you to think about the big ideas in this book.


Stopping Point #1: (pg. 7) How do you think the people in this book feel about the weather forecast being wrong? How do you know? Use the illustration and text to show your evidence.


Stopping Point #2: (pg.28 ) Meteorologists work hard studying maps to give forecasts. Why is knowing the weather forecast important to you?


Stopping Point #3: (pg. 4-pg. 32) What did you learn about predicting the weather? Provide evidence from the story you just heard.



Writing about Reading related to the read aloud text: 

After hearing this story, write about how the weather impacts you and your family.
