The Ohio Afterschool Network recognized Gemma Zimmerman and Ann Hinkle for their efforts in going "Above and Beyond" in programming during its recent state conference. Gemma and Ann were described as transforming Newark's "latch-key" like after school programs into rich, engaging and highly creative 21st Century Learning Centers. They were highlighted as shining examples of doing whatever it takes to empower kids and families so their communities will flourish.
