In 2007, the Newark Board of Education adopted a new five-year strategic plan to guide the district's educational philosophy, aspirations for student achievement and operational focus.
Adoption of the Strategic Plan culminates a process that began in the Spring of 2006 with a group of 25 people representing parents, staff and the Newark community. The final plan is the product of sound research, extensive stakeholder input and represents a true community consensus.
The five-year strategic plan is reviewed annually by the strategic plan committee.
The most recent review was October 2013. The updated plan was approved by the board on Dec. 9, 2013.
