NCS Community Message April 3
Good evening Newark City Schools families, this is Superintendent Doug Ute

It has been a wonderful first week of blended learning in the Newark City School District. Earlier this week, Governor DeWine extended the school closure and stay-at-home order to May 1.

Our goal as a district during this time is to help students learn from home without overwhelming families. We know that this is a stressful time, and we don’t want to add to that stress level. If you need additional support, please reach out to your child’s teacher or additional contacts that you may have. We have technical support numbers available on our website’s Blended Learning page, as well.

We are continuing to evaluate the amount of work that is being given to students.

Our staff is working hard to serve our families. Over these past few weeks, we have handed out thousands of meals at our various spots throughout the city. We have also had requests for more than 1,100 devices that are in the process of being handed out to families. We know that many still need more assistance.

Please have a great weekend as we get some rest and recharge for next week.

As always, it’s a Great time to be a Cat!
