Hello Cherry Valley Families!
Thank you for the amazing start to the 2020-21 school year. Please read through the information below to discover the many different events we had to begin this unique school year and the ideas we are continuing to develop to make this the best literacy learning experience for your students!
All of our teachers throughout Cherry Valley including Title teachers were a part of extensive summer professional development. During this experience our teachers were exposed to and trained on the latest technology platforms that were used for your students, particularly at the beginning of this school year. This intense professional development put us as a staff on the cutting edge of delivering online learning to make sure we could give your students the best learning experience possible. We committed ourselves to continue with these new learning opportunities during in person learning so we could keep our new technology skills sharp, as a teaching staff but also to foster the budding technology skills your students were taking on as well.
Here at Cherry Valley we are a Title building. This means that all our Title teachers can instruct all our students with Title services. Small groups of instruction is the way the teaching staff most often meets the needs of our Cherry Valley learners. Our specific Title teachers can also meet with any student within the walls of Cherry Valley to provide whole group or small group instruction, whether it is online or in person. We are provided with ongoing professional development throughout the school year to aid in the creation of the best learning environment that can be provided for your student-online or in person.
Title services also provide our students with the opportunity to have parent involvement meetings throughout the school year. We began the year with an online open house and videos to show new procedures throughout the day. As can be expected, we are taking our time to plan new and engaging activities that will incorporate the new technology platforms for our future Title Parent meetings. Watch for news blasts and emails for upcoming events.
Through Title services we are committed to keeping in touch with you the stakeholders of your student’s education. We had successful conferences online already this year along with opportunities to reach teachers through the Remind app. Of course teachers can always be reached through email or a call into our Cherry Valley office.
Cherry Valley adheres to the state mandated testing for Ohio. We had a successful testing session using technology for grade three in October. As of now we will be testing grades three, four and five in April 2021.
