Eight Newark High School students have qualified for the East-Central Region Orchestra, which is made up of top students from 21 counties. The orchestra will meet for two rehearsals, then perform a concert together at 3 p.m. on Nov. 20 at Granville High School.

*George was also selected to the Ohio All-State Orchestra, which will meet for a three-day festival and perform at the Ohio Music Educators Association Conference in February. This is the second straight year a Newark High School student has been selected for the All-State Orchestra.
