Read Aloud Title: The Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza by Philomen Sturges

Read Aloud Video

Book Introduction: Yesterday you heard the story The Little Red Hen.  Today I am going to read you another version of this story called The Little Red Hen (Makes a Pizza).  In this story the Little Red Hen doesn’t have the supplies she needs to make a pizza.  She asks her neighbors, a duck, a dog and a cat to help her.  Will her neighbors help her?  Will she get the ingredients she needs?  Who will get to eat the pizza?  As I read, listen carefully for the answers to these questions.

Writing about Reading: Yesterday you listened to the story The Little Red Hen. Today you listened to The Little Red Hen (Makes a Pizza).  How are these two stories the same?  How are they different?  Use evidence from the stories to support your thinking. Try to give at least two reasons for each question.
