March 18 NCS Community Update

Dear Newark families,

It’s hard to believe that it’s already Wednesday, but we have had a great week already in Newark. Teachers are doing great work in collaborating on creating lessons for students during this time. While the statewide school closures are currently lasting through April 3, we anticipate that they will last longer.

Delivery of this coursework will begin on March 30. We will communicate the ways to access these assignments at a later time. We are looking at ways to provide access for students who need it. We are able to provide 1 device per family if you do not have a device at home. If you need this assistance, please contact your building principal by email.

If you need Internet access, Spectrum is offering 60 days of free Internet access for families with school-aged children who do not yet have Internet. If you need these details, please click here.

Once again, meals are available at all of our schools tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Friday, the meals will be available at our elementary schools from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. You may pick up meals for multiple days, if supply is available, so that you do not need to come to the school every day.

Thank you to everyone in our community, who is pulling together to do the best for children and families in Newark.

Have a great night.

Doug Ute
Superintendent
