Yesterday you heard the story The Little Red Hen.  Today I am going to read you another version of this story called The Little Red Hen (Makes a Pizza).  In this story the Little Red Hen doesn’t have the supplies she needs to make a pizza.  She asks her neighbors, a duck, a dog and a cat to help her.  Will her neighbors help her?  Will she get the ingredients she needs?  Who will get to eat the pizza?  As I read, listen carefully for the answers to these questions.

Read Aloud Title: Ninja Red Riding Hood by Corey Rosen Schwartz

Today I am excited to share one of my favorite fractured fairy tales called Ninja Red Riding Hood.  A fractured fairy tale is one where the author takes a classic fairy tale-in this case Red Riding Hood, and changes some things about it, like the setting or the characters.  In this story the Big Bad Wolf can’t catch his prey with huffing and puffing, so he decides to try going to Ninja school.  As I am reading, I want you to think about how the story is like Red Riding Hood from yesterday, and how it is different.
