Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the Principal of Carson Elementary. I feel truly blessed to be the instructional leader of such a fantastic school. Carson is a truly special place as our returning Carson families know. If you are new to the Carson community you have found a very special place indeed.
I have lived in Newark nearly my entire life and currently live here with my husband and two sons. I am a Newark graduate and also a graduate of The Ohio State University. Go Bucks! This will be my seventh year as principal at Carson Elementary. I have worked in Newark City Schools for 20 years, previously as the Literacy Coordinator for the district. This year will be my 27thyear as an educator. I am thrilled to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.
Along with the staff, I will work hard to foster a safe and nurturing environment along with high expectations for academic success. We will continue to establish strong relationships with parents, students, staff and community partners. We will focus on our character education program, implementing Ohio’s Learning Standards, use of data to inform instruction, and meeting the needs of each individual
student.
I anticipate a most successful year as the Cason Staff and I support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your child. I want Carson to be a place where there are lots of smiles and laughter. It is my hope that we will all work together to provide the students of Carson the best possible opportunities in preparing them to be world class citizens and to reach their highest potential!
